Queer Food, Queer Joy: A Helen House Pop-Up Fundraiser!

Join us at Gallery One for a culinary journey as we raise funds for Helen House, a youth drop-in center serving Kittitas County.

A collaboration between Helen House and TransRural Lives, the evening includes a twelve-course tasting menu of small plates prepared by chef Michael Johnson with mix-and-match wine pairings. The menu features locally-, equitably-, and humanely-sourced ingredients with a flexitarian ethos. The evening will also feature a silent dessert, wine, and art auction.

Enjoy an evening of colorful and playful dishes that embody the queer joy and diversity of Ellensburg's LGBTQ2IA+ / SOGIE community.

Honoring Transgender Day of Remembrance with Stories from Transrural Lives

Please join the CWU Museum of Culture & Environment (MCE) as we partner with TransRural Lives, a community-rooted digital storytelling project, funded in part by a Humanities Washington Stories Fund Grant, that explores and celebrates the rich lives of rural Transgender adults. We'll mark the loss of trans and gender-diverse people and create a space of remembrance, cultivate ways to reflect on ways of addressing anti-transgender violence, and engage with the experiences of trans individuals affected by these issues.  This event is held in conjunction with the MCE’s exhibit, We’ve Always Been Here: Queer Histories of Kittitas County, developed by guest curator Tiernan VanSuetendael in conjunction with CWU students.  The MCE is located in Dean Hall (1200 Wildcat Way) on the CWU campus. The Museum is open Weds. – Sat. 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and admission is free. Parking on the CWU campus is free on Saturdays and after 4:30 PM on weekdays. For questions, email museum@cwu.edu or call (509) 963-2313.
